A contract for 25 m3 coconut lumber at EUR 200 per m3 was signed between Hokatex Enterprise and Herstav Michelska of Germany in July 2006. This is the first contract being signed for coconut lumber, following the successful research on alternative tree species for lumber carried out by the Timber Industry Development Division (TIDD).
