By using frame systems of solid wood in multi-store buildings construction costs can be reduced by as much as 7%, in comparison with the use of concrete made on site. This is the conclusion of a study of the construction costs of five multi-apartment buildings with 94 apartments for rent in Sundsvall in Northern Sweden. The report demonstrates that construction costs can be reduced by increased use of industrially prefabricated units.
