Recently, the supply of South American timber cannot meet the demand. Lots of producers of solid wood flooring in many other regions went to Shenzhen and Shanghai ports to purchase timber directly. South American timber is an important raw material of China’s solid wood flooring. Therefore, it was predicted that the prices of solid wood flooring would rise once more after the execution of consumption tax. A staff of a flooring chain store in a big construction material market said that the price of solid wood flooring would rise by about 20 RMB Yuan soon. It was analyzed that the rise of South American timber’s price attributed to the decline of imported timber from South America and a great deal of purchase and the storage of South American timber by Taiwan dealers.
