On 26 May 2006, the Egger Group opened its first Russian production facility in Shuya. The company has invested 100 million EUR in the plant, which is located 330 km north east of Moscow. The 81.5-hectare site will be used to manufacture raw and melamine-faced chipboard. The annual production capacity for raw chipboard is 250,000 m3. One of Eggers aims in investing in Shuya is to satisfy the high levels of demand for high-quality panels from the Russian furniture sector. (Source: Fordaq)
