Wood exports continued their rising trend in the first four months of 2006 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia´s main wood industry region. In spite of the installation of the new government, Santa Cruzs wood exports grew 20% to almost USD 14 million, compare with the same period in 2005. This increase was mainly led by furniture and sawnwood exports attributed to a 30% rise in sawn-wood average prices, although furniture average prices declined 35%.
